A love letter to LinkedIn

It's where you spend most of your time, so you might as well love being there

In partnership with

It’s no surprise that there’s a subreddit called r/LinkedinLunatics.

The surprise might be that none of us have been mentioned on it… yet.

One of the big pushes for AI* is that it can sit on your desktop/laptop as you work and be…”helpful.” That sounds great and all, but if it’s watching what I do, I know one day it will tell me how much time I spent on LinkedIn, and I’ll fall into a depression so deep, no amount of Ben&Jerry’s will save me.

And if I spend a lot of time on Big Blue, I bet you do, too. It is “our” platform (that we just happen to share with biz dev). It is our instant messenger, our social feed, our rolodex, our search, our news alert, our… wow. Better get some of that ice cream ready just in case. Half-baked or Cherry Garcia would be preferable.

So if you’re spending all this time on LI, could you be better at it? Yes.

You could be growing your network, attracting the talent your hiring managers want, and growing the company.

The trick?

Think “us” rather than “me.”

Think “TA and Marketing” rather than “just TA.”

Think “strategy and content” rather than “activity and impressions.”

And if you’re thinking, “Dude!” (because we’re friends and you look past my typos) “My social media team kicked us out of LinkedIn! We pay for it, and they won’t even let us use it!” we get you.

That’s why we get into strategies on how to get the social media team to see how important it is that you are meaningful part of their LinkedIn work. You don’t even need to bribe them. (Actually, bribery never hurt, but I’m not a lawyer so… you know.)

Anyway, if you’re ready to make LinkedIn work for you (instead of the other way around), you’re gonna love this week’s episode. As always, it’s on YouTube if you want to look at our ugly mugs, or wherever you get your locally sourced fresh podcasts.

Enjoy, lunatics!

*And not to give away too many spoilers, but in two weeks, we’re sharing 50 non-recruiting AL tools you should be thinking about using. I know! I’m excited, too!
