About The People MBA

Please, please, please don't add up all the years of employer branding, marketing and leadership experience we have. It would be rude, and we won't hear of it.

Suffice it to say that Bryan and James have been around the block a few times, set up a few lemonade stands, and helped more than a few children cross the street.

You're welcome.

Our Manifesto

Business growth starts and ends with people. Invest in attracting the right talent, aligning them with your purpose, and retaining them, and your business thrives. Products and services are born from people, so prioritize them above all.

Talent isn’t a transaction; it’s transformation. Leaders and recruiters must unite, think strategically, and hold each other accountable for growth driven by exceptional people.

When you show what makes your company unique—truthfully— you'll see that a strong employer brand isn’t just a recruitment tool; it’s a business strategy. It aligns teams, drives innovation, and creates lasting impact.

This is how talent leaders will get their seat at the table.

Bryan Adams [LI, Web]

The rumor that Bryan Adams is powered entirely by coffee and optimism is only partially true. But the story that he built one of the world’s leading employer branding consultancies from scratch? 100% legit.

Based predominantly in UK, Bryan is the founder and CEO of HappyDance, a careers website SaaS platform that focus on experience that move people. He is a co-author of two best selling books, the latest being Give & Get Employer Branding, affectionately known as the ‘bible of employer branding.’ Over the past 20 years, he’s worked with brands like Apple, Nike, and Glassdoor, helping them tell stories that compel top talent. He’s spoken at events around the globe including a Ted talk that’s been seen by over a million people, and swears empathy is a business strategy that never goes out of style.

James Ellis [LI, Web]

The rumors that he was once a mild-mannered digital marketer are true. But the story about how he was bitten by a radioactive recruiter, and that's what gave him strange new powers? That’s false.

Based in Chicago, IL, James is the founder and chief brander at Employer Brand Labs, a company dedicated to helping companies smaller than 2,000 employees take advantage of their employer brand and build effective talent strategies. He's written four books, run multiple podcasts and once owned the largest employer brand newsletter in the world.
