Why most employer brands fail to drive real business value

Let's skip the "fluffy bunny" stuff, shall we?

Truth bomb: Most companies have NO IDEA what culture actually is. And if you don't know what it is, how the hell can you build it?

That's why I'm pumped to share this conversation with Bryan Adams (not the singer, the employer brand strategist). We get straight to the bone-crushing reality of what culture ACTUALLY is: predictable behaviors that drive business outcomes.

This isn't fluffy bunny stuff. This is strategic business thinking.

Here's the big idea that's going to blow your mind: Just as consumer brands drive a customer's "willingness to pay," your employer brand drives an employee's "willingness to serve." When you frame it that way, it suddenly makes employer brand a C-suite priority, not just a nice-to-have project for when HR is bored.

In this conversation, we tackle:

  • Why culture = predictable behaviors (not vibes or atmosphere)

  • How to reverse-engineer the culture you need based on the capabilities your business requires

  • Why most company values are utterly useless (sorry, not sorry)

  • The reason 97.5% of TA leaders are missing the strategic opportunity of employer brand

  • A concrete framework for connecting employer brand to actual business outcomes

The harsh reality? Only 61% of global brands have ANYTHING resembling an employer brand strategy. In a room of 40 TA leaders I spoke with last week, only THREE had a formal employer brand. THREE!

The opportunity is massive for those willing to think strategically. This isn't about pretty Instagram pictures and platitudes on your careers page. It's about designing a blueprint for the culture that will actually drive your business forward.

If you're ready to elevate your thinking and stop treating employer brand like a tactical afterthought, this video is your roadmap.

Watch it. Apply it. Thank me later.

P.S. If Goldman Sachs and Red Cross have completely different cultures, it's because they have completely different business strategies. Obvious, right? So why isn't YOUR employer brand strategy directly tied to your business strategy? We'll show you how to fix that.
